Kennedy shows hope amid deadly disease
Author: adminWe all know that the chances of US Senator Edward Kennedy to survive is grim. With the malignant glioma staring down at him from his left parietal lobe, the expected survival time is from a few months up to a maximum of five years. Although the doctors have not publicized the findings, it seems that the type of tumor that he has in the brain is the fast killing type of glioma.
By the way it sounds, anyone who has this will lose the will to survive. Not Edward Kennedy. As he walked out of the hospital yesterday, he flashed a thumbs up sign to waiting supporters and family members. He was released early because the doctors said that he recovered fast from the seizure that he had last Saturday. He will be returning to his home in Cape Cod as the doctors await further results and determine the correct plan of action. They said that Kennedy was upbeat and was eager to get started as soon as possible.
The treatment will surely be hard. But who said it will be a walk in the park? Kennedy has gone through a lot. He has built a name in the Senate which he dominated for nearly half a century. He was a fierce critic of George Bush and a supporter of presidential hopeful, Barack Obama. His career in politics is undeniably colorful following the deaths of his brothers.
With the fierce battle ahead of him, let us all hope and pray that Kennedy will sustain the fire power that he has showed us in the past years.
