Liar!

To say the least, we all lie, all the time. We know that it causes problems but we still do it. Why? Psychologists at the University of Massachussetts said that lying is often tied with self - esteem. People often find that as soon as they feel that their self esteem is threatened, they begin to lie at higher levels.

It is all about looking good both to ourselves and to others according to other experts.

According to professionals, not all lies are harmful. Sometimes, lying is the best approach for protecting privacy and malice according to researchers. Some deceptions like boasting and lies in the name of tact and politeness can be classified as those that are less serious. However, those lies that involve leaving out the truth or putting in something that is false are pretty harmful as they begin to corrode trust and intimacy which is the commonly known as the glue of the society.

Humans are wired to deceive themselves and others. We are so engaged in managing how others look at us that we often separate the truth from fiction even in our own minds. In the context of business and consumers, consumers often lie to protect their public and private selves.

As for me, I often make it a point that I minimize lies. You just can’t avoid them totally but then little by little, I strive for the truth. Are you a liar? I know I am.
