According to a latest medical study, fat or obese people are at risk of dying 10 years early due to their state of health.
Based on the research conducted by the medical statistics team of the Oxford University in England it was discovered that persons who weight 100 or more pounds are at risk of shortening their lives by 10 years.
The study also showed that people who are 40 pounds or more are at risk of cutting their life by three years.
Richard Pelo, one of the lead researchers in the study cited heart disease and stroke as common causes of death among obese people.
Gary Whitlock, an epidemiologist at Oxford and part of the research team explained obesity causes heart disease and stroke by pushing up blood pressure, mucking up blood cholesterol and triggering diabetes, which could even lead to death.
For years, obesity had been considered as headache in the US wherein estimates of 66% of adult Americans are perceive to be overweight or obese.
This particular medical news report should serve as revelation for fat people to strive harder to reduce weight and avoid possibility of death.
