Another use for Viagra

Who said that Viagra is just for your sexual needs? A new Canadian study found out that Viagra can delay or prevent the onset of the dreaded heart condition - Duchenne muscular dystrophy.

The experiments were first conducted on mice which showed the researchers that there is an improved heart performance and the drug itself prevented the breakdown of a compund called cGMP which relaxes smooth muscles.

Because Duchenne muscular dystrophy is a disease that affects both the skeletal and cardiac muscles, there is a current need for a new and a much more effective treatment strategy for patients with this type of disease.

The study has stunned those who are working and researching on the disease and although it is not tested in humans with this condition yet, Viagra still proves to be safe for use. Further studies are still being conducted before a standard of care will be released.
