Researchers warned those persons who are taking depression medicines to be careful since new pieces of evidence have shown that it could affect the fertility of men.
According to the recent research conducted by NewYork-Presbyterian Hospital/Weill Cornell Medical Center it was found out that the antidepressant medication paroxetine (trade names Seroxat, Paxil) may have increased sperm DNA fragmentation  a predictor of compromised fertility.
Based on the research made by NewYork-Presbyterian Hospital/Weill Cornell Medical Center it was also discovered that the changes are reversible with normal levels of sperm returning after discontinuation of the drug.
The researchers said this medical report should serve as warning to those taking depression medicines to be careful on the dosage of the medicine to avoid chances they will suffer from infertility.
Dr. Peter Schlegel, the study’s senior author revealed the study is considered as one of the first scientific investigations into the effect of antidepressants on sperm quality.

Those male patients taking depression medicines should be careful since the medication could result in infertility.

Schlegel added although their study doesn’t look directly at fertility, it can infer that as many as half of men taking SSRIs have a reduced ability to conceive.
He said these men should talk with their physician about their treatment options, including non-SSRI depression medications.
The lead researcher said the study also confirmed the effect of SSRIs on sexual function, with more than a third of study participants reporting significant changes in erectile function and almost half reporting ejaculatory difficulties.
With this finding those people who are regularly using depression medicines should always be careful in taking the drugs to avoid chances of suffering that their fertility will be affected.

The future of male contraception could be an injectable testosterone.
This developed after a recent research in China uncovered a new safe and highly effective male contraception that could be soon be commercially available worldwide.
The researchers discovered that regimen; a male contraceptive hormone has the potential to become a highly effective male contraception for the male population in this planet.
According to Dr. Yi-Qun Gu, MD, of the National Research Institute for Family Planning in Beijing, China in their initial study they discovered that regimen has the components to prevent pregnancy among women.
Gu revealed they got their findings on their study comprising 1,045 healthy fertile Chinese men aged 20-45 years.

Medical experts said there is a strong indication injectable testosterone could be the future in male contraception.

He said each participant had fathered at least one child within the two years before the study and had a normal medical history.
He added their female partners were between 18 and 38 years of age and had normal reproductive function.
Based on their study, Gud said those men who were injected with regimen has not impregnated their sexual partners and were in normal physical condition after the study except for two participants.
Moreover, Gu said despite the good result in their study, they still need further study on regimen to determine if it is indeed viable to be used commercially around the world.
Whatever, the result of the further study, this piece of news is still great for males in this planet since if fate permits injectable testosterone could be used in future as a male contraception.

 

Even the usually fit and healthy male athletes are also facing eating disorder problems.
Based on a recent medical study it was discovered that many male athletes are facing eating disorder problems for engaging in unhealthy diets and medical procedures just to have a leaner physique.
Dr. James Glazer, a respected medical expert said those athletes who do unhealthy diets and activities in a regular basis just to be fit and healthy need to stop before things could worse like getting inflicted with eating disorders.

Many male athletes around the world are suffering from eating disorders.

Glazer said the recent of death of some prominent wrestlers is a clear manifestation that if not treated early eating disorders can kill a person.
He explained eating disorders is common to a recreational athlete who will lose a few pounds because of training.
The medical professional said most athletes who will lose so much weight will perform less and would eventually result in medical complications and worse death for some.
Furthermore, Glazer said male athletes who are suffering from eating disorders should immediately seek medical treatment on their condition before things could get worse.
He said more than anything in this world, male athletes should do their best to protect their health and away from harm.
