Teen Pressure


We have known forever how teens get pressured from the world of dating. The idea of having a boyfriend or a girlfriend seems to be the salvation of other pressure of adolescence like social alienation, the negative impression of virginity, the idea of being “in,” and maybe, this kind of romantic relationship would be for eternity.

While it appears to be truthful to think that it can save them from such teenage pressure, it also becomes a major concern to every individual experience puberty to the point that they become desperate acquiring a relationship which will eventually lead them into thinking that it is better to have bad date than not having a date at all. This thought, however, becomes unhealthy, especially when it opens a chance for their lover to abuse them in many ways.

  • It can lead to physical abuse….

    * Out of 15, 240 second year high school students, 8.9% of them have experienced a series of physical abuse like slapping or being pushed, according to a study done by Centers for Disease and Control.

  • It can lead to sexual abuse….

    * From the same survey, 9% shows forced sex from their partner.

  • Teenagers usually don’t tell their parents about this matter for the fear of separating the teenage couple.

  • A partner who can’t deal with a break-up properly may bring him/her into obsession, stalking, and even violence.
